We've provided some of Chad's favorite items so you can see what we're currently enjoying.

The French Pantry Baguettes

Jacksonville's food scene is developing nicely and it tends to suffer a bit in the bread department. One exception is The French Pantry, owned by Tim and Barbara Felver. They make a variety of breads and supply most of the high-end restaurants in town. We're particularly fond of their baguettes. Great texture, just the right amount of crunch on the exterior, wonderful flavor. We receive them fresh daily.

Hint: Baguettes freeze well when wrapped in foil. Reheat at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

Vosges Chocolate vosgeschocolate.com/category/exotic_candy_bars

Vosges exotic truffles are made from the finest ingredients from around the world. Inspired by extensive travel, owner Katrina Markoff infuses rare spices and flowers into her premium dark chocolates and the end results are phenomenal. My favorite is the Barcelona Bar with Grey Sea Salt and Smoked Almonds.  A close second is the Calinda Bar with Cardamom Seed, Organic Walnuts, Dried Plums, and Venezuelan Dark Chocolate.  Ummmm, ummm...

Hint: Buy two Vosges bars and eat half of each. Pairing them off one another will allow you to taste different kinds of exotic chocolates. More importantly, they’re addictive, and this method will assure that you have some for tomorrow!

Funari’s Gelato funaris.com

Marc and Dawn Funari are making some incredible gelato here in Jacksonville Beach.  They use the freshest ingredients and make our gelato weekly.  Gelato contains 1/3 the fat and less air than ice cream.  High fat content tends to hide the overall flavor in ice cream.  Gelato brings the flavor out.  I love the Pistachio yet the Cookie Dough flavor is big hit here in San Marco.  We also carry a Strawberry/Banana Sorbet among other flavors.

Hint: It’s best to pull Funari’s Gelato out of the freezer and let it ‘warm’ for five minutes at room temperature prior to scooping/serving. That extra time will make serving easier and make the Gelato smooth and creamy.

Etiquette of Chocolate etiquetteofchocolate.com

Judy Tan is a local artisan chocolate maker (Orange Park) who is making bon bons and truffles of the highest quality.  Interesting flavors and rich dark chocolate.  Yum!

Hint: Save yourself a trip to Orange Park and pick up your Etiquette of Chocolate here in San Marco. One-day turn-around on special orders received by noon is also available.
